WATER TREATMENT
The term "water treatment" can literally be applied to any process
that alters or changes the condition of water. It includes both
adding to and deleting from the chemical makeup of water. It includes
both the cleaning and disinfecting of potable water for human
and livestock consumption and waste treatment for environmental
protection.
Adding a variety of substances that enhance industrial uses of water is another aspect of water treatment. De-scaling agents and algaecides are added to boilers or chillers and filter systems. Polyphosphates and enzymes are often necessary additions to keep water lines from clogging.
